Theatre 101 - 3rd-6th Grade
Students begin with acting basics they need to create a successful scene: ensemble skills, improvisation, projection, vocal clarity and expression, characterization, pantomime, objective and tactics. They will learn script structure, blocking, and stage directions and how to give, receive and apply feedback. They will explore aspects beyond acting such as directing and simple set design.
Theatre 201 - 7th-12th Grade
The best theatre is done by those who excel at the basics. This class is for students of all experience levels to take the next step of growth in the basics of performance. The main focus will be “The Actor’s Toolkit” covering mind, body, and voice of the actor. Each week we will focus on different tools the actors need - pantomime, improvisation, voice exercises, etc. Students will also grow in their understanding of theatre history and how the art form has grown.
Theatre 202 - 7th-12th Grade
This is a performance based class. It will grow the student as an artist and deepen their skills. Students will populate their performance portfolio by focusing on monologues and scene work. This can be taken with Theatre 201 or taken by itself.
